Section 8About the coach! Facts and information specific to this coach! ___________________________________________________________________ Section 1About Baby Boomers. What is a baby boomer?Wikipedia: A baby boomer is a person born between 1945 and 1965 in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, or Australia. Following World War II, these countries experienced an unusual spike in birth rates, a phenomenon commonly known as the baby boom. I am 57 years old. Many years ago (about 30 or so) I decided that some day I wanted to drive across America. I had just seen a video showing several families driving across the Golden Gate Bridge in an upward climb. The video had been shot from a helicopter. Later in the video was the campfire, the food, the friends, and especially the family which included children. The subliminal message was: "Work hard enough and you too can spend time with your family driving across America and enjoying life up close and personal." At least, that's what I got from the video. That spurred me on to make every effort possible to me to get "that" coach. 15 years went by and one Saturday morning, I opened the back door to look out into the yard and I noticed that "MY COACH" wasn't there, YET! An hour later I started up my chainsaw and started clearing a 75x75 spot for my "Bus Barn". I built that barn with one major focus. I was building a Bus Converting barn where I would convert a plain ol' bus into a First Class Coach. And no loan money to build it either. It took me 7 years to get 'er done. In June of 2002, Kath and I were driving home with our new bus. It took me 2 1/2 years to do a first class job of converting my bus into MY Coach! All this because of a DREAM! Are you a Baby Boomer? What are you going to do when you retire from the job? Have you considered travelling across America? Have you been to an RV dealer and walked through a $200,000 + coach? Have you ever driven a Top of the Line RV where the Salesman, without question, goes with you? Are you a Baby Boomer just starting to look at your options? What is your Dream?____________________________________________________________________ Section 2A friend of mine is in the RV sales business. I have a friend who is in RV sales. He is loving it. I asked him how sales were going anticipating that he would say that it sucks. You know money being a little tighter and all. He explained to me that guys our age, the "baby boomers" were his customers. The baby boomers had worked all their lives day in and day out to retire comfortably after the kids were gone and the mortgage was paid. They felt that they deserved it. He told me of a guy who sold off his 10,000 sq ft home and most of his toys (cars, bikes, 4 wheelers, boats etc) and walked in and looked over some high end coaches over several weeks and finally purchased a $300,000 coach for cash. Unbelievable! He told me of another guy and his wife who had a paid mortgage, no kids, just retired and wanted to "see the country", financed a smaller $85,000 Class C and headed to Florida before the snow started to fly. And there were some folks who apparently struggled to get financing but were able to get a refi on their home which was enough for them to purchase and drive off with an older but in great shape motorhome and head south for this winter and still keep their home for the return trip in April and then back to work. All Baby Boomers just itching to get on the road. Where do you fit in? Are you one of us just itching to get on the road? What is your Dream?____________________________________________________________________ Section 3Is owning a coach cost effective? Kath had a medical conference to attend in Denver in October. We had to fly. Here is an idea of what 7 days in Denver cost.Plane fare $375 RT each $750Car Rental $189.99 + taxes $210Fuel $ 37.50 $ 38Hotel Room (Adam's Mark Hotel) $135 per day +TAXes $1250Parking (Hotel Garage) $ 15 per day $105Breakfast $ 11 with tip each $154Lunch $ 13 each $182Dinner $ 26 with tip each $364 $3,053 Total You may think that Denver is expensive, Me too! But the fact is that nothing is free. If time had been permitting, if I could have used my coach to do this trip, if it had been Boston (only 200 miles from my home), here is what I think this same trip may have cost me. Coach Fuel 143 gallons at $5.00 /gal $715Tow my car $ 0Campground parking $35 per night x 7days $245Breakfast , Lunch and some diinners $150 for groceries for the week $150Dinner out for 2 x 4 nights $ 26 with tip each $204 $1,314 Total I think you'd agree, that a $1,300 vacation if one heck of a lot cheaper that $3,000.And I know that the tank will have at last 100 gallons left over for the next weekend or week trip. FYI: This coach gets 7 to 8 mpg. Did I mention......... Weekend trips! You know the kind I'm talking about. Like a 3 day get away to a PGA golf course say 200 miles from home or a visit to the International Boat Show in Newport R.I. or the one in Miami, Fl. How about a trip to Atlantic City N.J or to Las Vegas NV? Do the math. How about just taking your children or grandkids for a real camporee just 50 miles from home, in the woods near a stream where the fishing is fantastic? An addiditional thought about this topic............... Ever thought about having a place on the water? I was talking with a fellow just about 4 weeks ago who told me that he just got his renewal notice for his lot at a local campground for the entire season. The price was $1,000. So, this fellow drives his coach about 65 miles to the campground and back in the fall. His cost for fuel is about $75.00 per year. He pays no taxes to the local community for his time on the water. When he gets fed up with that campground, off he goes. Some years he visits different campgrounds which usually costs him about $30 per night. What's my point? Try owning a cottage for $59,000 and no yearly taxes!!! WOW!! this IS a deal. All you have to do is put on your thinking cap and you will figure it out.____________________________________________________________________ Section 4What's so great about this coach? First of all this is NOT your uncle's rehabed 1950's schoolie (yellow school bus). This is an MCI MC5C manufactured with the expectation of being driven at least a million miles before any major overhaul. Unlike today's ultra modern and in fact ultra light frame systems, this unit was built like a tank to withstand the punishment of the road for that million miles. Today's rigs are expected to be driven about 4,000 miles per year. They are built with that in mind. If you only need to travel some 1,2 or 4,000 miles per year then maybe this coach is overbuilt for you. If however you are buying a coach to last you some 10 to 20 years then this is the rig for you. The first 20 years of it's life, this bus was working in Saudi Arabia. No salt there. After completing it's contract with Saudi Arabia, Greyhound brought this and many other buses back to the US. This bus was sold to Bluebird lines in Tonowanda NY. After about 3 years there it was traded in toward new buses when Coach USA purchased Bluebird lines. I purchased the bus in June 2002 with ABC bus as the dealer. I drove the bus home without incident. The conversion began and lasted almost 3 years. We cut and lifted the roof line exactly 12 inches. New steel bridging was installed and the skeleton was covered in 0.065 aluminum, foamed completly and at that point, the actual conversion began. The cabinetry was done in custom cut Hard Rock Maple and in Birch panels. The electrical was buried in the walls just like in your home. This has become a first class coach and was eventually listed in the centerfold of Bus Conversion Magazine in February of 2007. _____________________________________________________________________ Section 5How about financing? Here are some tips and ideas about financing an older coach. I will be the first to tell you that today, finance companies want you to believe that YOU are their primary focus and YOU are the only one they care about and want to service, however if the vehicle you want to finance does not appear in a NADA book or a Kelly Blue Book, YOU are no longer on the finance company's best customer list. Have you heard this ad before... "We are YOUR hometown bank and YOU are the reason we're in business". How about this one... "At YOUR Credit Union You are not just a member, You are an Owner!" I never understood how this type of advertising has never been considered an illegal fraud case just waiting to happen. You can purchase a $300,000 year 2007 Monaco Coach and get financing at 7,6,5,4,3 or even 2 percent depending on your credit history. The payment on a 10 year 300,000 loan at even 4 percent is roughly $3000 per month. Wow! And for only 10 years.A $100,000 year 2007 Winnebago Motorhome would cost you only $1000 per month for 10 years at 4%. Incredible. It's hard to say what financing package you can put together but one thing is for sure, it makes much more sense to spend as little as possible to get your first class coach and not have a 1,2 or $3,000 payment hanging over your head for 10 years. Here are some possible finance groups where you could re-fi into one loan which includes all of your financing into one payment.http://www.lowrvfinancing.com/rv_financing_information.htmlhttps://www.goodsamrvfinance.com/RVMDirect/GoodsamRVFinance.jsp?p=nadahttp://www.rvownerfinancing.com/http://www.rvtrader.com/rvlinks/rvfinancing.phphttp://www.bestrvloancalculator.com/http://www.ditech.com/equity/index.htmlhttp://s1fc.com/applyforfinancing.php?title=Apply%20For%20Financing ____________________________________________________________________ Section 6Why this coach and why now? The coach is literally new. The price is right. You have been searching for months and you're ready to buy! But............ at what price? It's time for you to make up your mind! Is it Your Time? Do you deserve the best and a fair price? The ball is in your court. Make your decision, come and see this coach and you could be on the road South before the snow flies this year.____________________________________________________________________ Section 7Special Promotion! CASH PRICE! Not a check! Not a money order! Not a Bank Check! I mean REAL CASH, Greenbacks, 450 each - US $100 Bills! and you can drive away for $45,000 Email: GuyCarrier at GuyCarrier.com For more info contact Guy R. Carrier at 207-784-4500 This is considered a "short" bus which makes it easier for maneuvering around city streets and smaller campgrounds yet solid in stature for holding the highway in any weather. Someone asked why this is considered a "short" bus. MCI specs show the MC5c at 45' turning radius and this coach does not have a tag axle to drag around corners. This adds up to a quicker turn and easier to maneuver. Equipped with a 2" Receiver and an 1 1/4" Receiver also. This receiver system is setup to accept almost any tow bar, DIY type or factory. The receiver system is attached to the bus frame system. This is NOT a bumper hitch! Already Wired for a Tow Vehicle. __________________________________________ Section 8 Facts and information specific to this coach! About this Coach! This bus was looked over from front to back. This engine has been rebuilt approx 21,000 miles ago (out of the chassis) and I have the documentation to show it. All of the old fiberglass was removed. The structure was opened right to the outer skin. It was repainted with primer on the inside to insure that no bare metal was exposed to the air. The inside was foamed completely with 2 inches of Handi-Foam including the walls and ceiling. The floor was insulated with a 1" solid foam core board and then covered with 1/2" plywood, walls and ceiling also. The bus includes 3 electrical systems, 24 VDC chassis system, 12 VDC house system which feeds a 120 VAC system inverter. Except for the fact that the bus is a 1979 MCI chassis, the "Coach" portion of this bus is literally brand new. The work ( 2 years worth ) is near complete except for cosmetics. There are a lot of coaches available but only those built as a bus in the first place gives you the security and feeling of safety. This bus is a 35 foot coach with Power Steering, Automatic Transmission and Air Brakes. The bus has 6 brand new 22.5 inch Firestone Highway Bus Tires. Are there any things left to do? Sure, there is always something left to do. You decide! However I doubt that you would want to make changes. We all want to customize our own coach with certain items. Of course you may not want to once you see the new wallpaper, new Italian Porcelain floors, new sculptured berber rugs, new porcelain bath fixtures, new Peninsula double pane, smoke gray glass, tempered, slider windows with slider screens, a new "Carrier" 15,000 BTU A/C, new Winegard VHS adjustable antenna, new 20 inch remote control TV, new VCR, new DVD, new LCD Backup Monitor and new NightVision/Daylight Rear Backup Camera. The coach is prewired for a satellite dish connection right along side the 120 VAC plug in and water inlet to the coach. There is also a brand new GE Spacemaker Microwave, a Frigidaire 5.0 cu ft 120vac refrigerator and freezer and a new FlexSteel Magic Bed which sleeps two guests. The Master bedroom has ample storage including two personal his/hers shirt closets, bedside drawers, under bed storage and over the headboard storage for linen, sheets, bed covers and clothing. And how about an over the bed lighted mirror and hidden mood lighting all around the room? The windows in the bed space are huge to allow ample sunlight in and to give you a place to rest and read while riding the highways toward your destination. This coach has a compartment for the Sealand Porcelain flush. Don't you hate those coaches that have a flush right out in the middle of the master suite? All of the lighting is 120 VAC halogen fixtures. Once you "plug" in the bus, all of the lighting and receptacles and electronics are powered by shore power. On the road, the 120 VAC is supplied from a Freedom 458, 2000 Watt inverter. The 12 VDC house system is charged while on the road using a VANNER 100 amp equalizer. This coach also has an ONAN Model 6300 Emerald Plus genset producing 6300 Watts mounted on a roll-out carriage for easy maintenance. This coach carries 100 gallons of fresh water for all your water needs. The plumbing has many valves placed on a manifold alongside 2 water filters that provide clean water. An electronically controlled propane fuel 6 gallon water heater provides all the hot water. The kitchen sports a 4 burner propane fuelled stove with a baking oven for the cook in your family. The kitchen counter has a cover designed to fit over the stove for ample counter top should you not have a need for the stove at every meal. The kitchen counter has a 16" bar type sink with bar type fawcet. The counter top is lighted for a bright and inviting food prep area. Any other cabinetry? Absolutely. The living space has many storage cabinets around the side and front of the coach for storing books, maps, crafts or whatever. This coach has all of it's cabinetry built of Hard Rock Maple and Birch panels giving it a bright and light inviting atmosphere. No dark corners or drab rooms. The living space windows are huge. Roughly 3 foot tall and 6 foot long on both sides of the coach, there are real picture window effects. You do not have to find the window first to see a sight as is the case in many other coaches. . ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This coach is first class.
