It is several steps up from the often mentioned, pine box.  This coffin is also a pine box, but much more.  In days past, the "pine box" was made for people of little means.  They were not all that sturdy and made as economically as possible.  This pine box is made of construction lumber purchased at the local lumber yard.  The wood is not 3/4 of an inch thick, but rather is made of 2x3 studs with steel rods reinforcing each corner and one midway on each side.  This casket is heavy, weighing 120 lbs.  It has two simple sliding covers, held securely shut with wooden pegs.  The interior is lined with blue denim.  No frilly satin or lace on this casket.  Imperfections and knots in wood are used as they came.  Save some money for the living, and still make a strong statement about yourself or loved ones.      People with questions may call 612-987-7630.
